Nursery Practitioner

We are looking for a member of staff to join our busy nursery located on the army barracks at Thorney Island, in a quiet setting. The role involves working with children aged 9 months to 4 years, as well as primary school children before and after school.

We seek an enthusiastic and motivated individual who holds a full, relevant childcare qualification. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility with all age groups. Reliability, trustworthiness, and a genuine passion for working with children are essential, along with the ability to provide activities tailored to individual needs.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Create effective plans that challenge and stimulate children based on their interests and developmental needs.
  2. Deliver engaging activities with enthusiasm and expertise to ensure positive outcomes, maintaining focus on children during activities while being mindful of others.
  3. Take on key worker responsibilities, including maintaining high-quality learning journals using the Tapestry system.
  4. Support children during free flow activities, ensuring safety at all times.
  5. Prepare and equip children for activities, including providing aprons and wet weather suits as needed.
Requirements
  • Shift pattern: 7:30-5:30 Monday to Thursday and 7:30-3 on Friday, with early and late shifts during the week (term time only).
  • Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Full-time and part-time shifts available.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Level 3 childcare qualification.

Breakfast and After School Club Assistant

Join our team to work with children aged 9 months to primary school age, before and after school. No formal qualifications are required; a love for children, good communication skills, and initiative are essential.

Job Purpose
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain high standards of care in a stimulating environment that promotes learning and development.
  • Work with the Deputy Manager, Nursery Manager, and team members to meet the social, personal, and educational needs of children, including those with special or bilingual needs, fostering positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Represent the nursery professionally, respecting confidentiality and maintaining the premises and uniform appropriately.
Requirements

Shift pattern: 7:30am - 9:00am & 3:00pm - 5:30pm (part-time)

  • Monday to Friday (no after school on Fridays).
  • Pay: £10.00 - £12.21 per hour.
  • Full UK Driving License preferred.
