A local childcare provider is looking for a passionate Qualified Nursery Nurse to join their team in Hatfield on a full-time basis. You will work with children aged 3 months to 3 years, ensuring their development through the EYFS curriculum. Job description

Safari Stars Nursery are looking to welcome on board a passionate and enthusiastic Qualified Nursery Nurse to join our team on a full time basis, working 40 hours per week.

The successful candidate must have a minimum Level 2 recognised childcare qualification.

The successful Candidate will be based in a room working with children either aged 3 months to 2 years or aged 2-3 years.

You must have sound knowledge of the updated EYFS curriculum and you will be a key person for up to 6 key children. You will receive full induction training ensuring you have a clear understanding of how as a setting we plan to develop children's education and narrow gaps in their learning ensuring they thrive in our care. We use the online App "Tapestry" for assessments and communication with the parents about children’s development and time spent at nursery. Time to upload photos/ written observations is given fortnightly allowing you to keep up to date with this.

You will be guided every step of the way by our highly trained staff team ensuring that you flourish as a practitioner and a professional with potential for progression. Not only will you gain extensive first hand experience but you will also benefit from external short courses such as Safeguarding Children, Food Safety, Prevent Duty and Paediatric First Aid.

Shift patterns varying each week between 7.45-5 and 9-6.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Supervision and interaction with children
  • Supervision of meal times
  • Observation, planning and assessment - inline with the new EYFS
  • Partnerships with parents and carers
  • Key person to a minimum of 6 children - this will require a good standard of written English.
  • Being alert in Safeguarding and how to deal with any safeguarding concerns effectively.
  • Planning fun, stimulating activities that relate to the children's interests and development.
