As a Nurse Associate at our GP surgery, you will be responsible for delivering essential healthcare services to our patients. Your main duties will include:
We are a friendly and welcoming GP Practice in the heart of Killingworth, North Tyneside. The practice has a population of little over 5500 registered patients. We have 5 GPs supported by an excellent multi-disciplinary team of a Practice Nurse, HCA and Pharmacist. The practice teaches medical students from Newcastle and Sunderland University.
The following are the core responsibilities ofthe Nursing Associate in delivering health services:
Deliverhigh quality, compassionate care while undertaking specific clinical and caretasks under the direction of a registered nurse (or other registered careprofessional) with a focus on promoting good health and independence
Providehigh-quality holistic and person-centred care to individuals
Provideroutine care to patients as required in accordance with clinical basedevidence, NICE and the NSF
Providewound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required
Workas part of the MDT to provide and monitor care, under direct or indirectsupervision and ensure delivery of nursing associate duties
Improvethe safety and quality of care at every opportunity
Contributeto the delivery of integrated care
Workwith a supervisor to take responsibilityfor developing own clinical competence, leadership and reflective practiceskills within the workplace and enable you to deal effectively with thedifficult issues that people present
Supportregistered nurses to enable them to be able to focus on the more complexclinical care
Developrelationships across the MDT to support the integration of the role acrosshealth and social care including primary care, secondary care and mental health
Maintainaccurate and contemporaneous patient health records ensuring that clinical datais appropriately recorded with SNOMED codes
Performand record clinical observations such as blood pressure, temperature,respirations and pulse including appropriate coding
Provide flu vaccinations, venepuncture and other relevant clinical tasks as required and in line with thecompetencies of the role
Promotehealth and wellbeing to all patients, for example undertaking the NHS healthcheck
Providesupport during minor operations as required
