Job description
Overview

Join Us as a Deputy Manager – Lead with purpose and make a real difference in the lives of young people

We’re looking for a passionate, driven, and dynamic professional to join our management team within our innovative No Wrong Door (NWD) service.

You will be part of the management team that supports a wide range of placements (including residential care), support and services that make up the NWD model in Scarborough. The key purpose of the role is to be responsible for placements outside of the home Hub and serve as the dedicated safeguarding lead across the No Wrong Door model.

About the role

The role of Deputy Manager is dynamic and diverse, requiring a confident, autonomous individual to drive forward practice and influence stakeholders, partners and colleagues.

Key responsibilities
  • Chair and coordinate RAISE meetings with key agencies to address safeguarding concerns and risk.
  • Work closely with partners and stakeholders to make informed decisions that prioritise the safety and wellbeing of young people.
  • Use evidence-based approaches like Signs of Safety and Restorative Practice to enact change and improve outcomes.
  • Provide hands-on leadership, support, and direction to staff, helping them deliver exceptional care.
  • Influence strategic developments and ensure NWD remains a priority across multi-agency networks.
  • Focus on local placements with the clear objective of improving work with families, and safely reduce the number of children entering care.
Why Join Us

You will be part of a forward-thinking team that’s transforming care for young people. You’ll be at the forefront of a model that’s nationally recognised for its innovation and effectiveness, with the opportunity to shape practice, policy, and lives.

What we offer
  • Generous Annual Leave: 28 days of holiday (pro-rata), increasing to 34 days after 5 years’ service – plus public holidays.
  • Pension Scheme: Save for your future with our generous Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Fitness Discounts: Discounted Gym memberships at various gyms across the county.
  • Lifestyle Savings: Enjoy a wide range of discounts at hundreds of popular high-street and online retailers.
  • And more: Flexible working arrangements, additional wellbeing support, employee assistance, and development opportunities.

The post holder will also have to participate in an out of hours stand by rota and may at times have to work evenings, weekends or bank holidays as required by the service.
