Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Night Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Stafford, a category C Prison located in Staffordshire. HMP Stafford has a capacity of 741 males.

Hours

  • This role is 18.75 hours per week
  • Monday – Sunday service
  • 4‑week rolling rota

Please keep in mind that as an night nurse there is a requirement to do a day shift on rotation for ongoing professional development and support.

This position is part time; you will receive an annual salary between £34,428 and £41,559 per annum depending on experience. This will be pro rata.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • You will be an integral part of the healthcare team at HMP Stafford by bringing your clinical skills and passion for care.
  • Be involved in anything from developing and leading clinics, undertaking examinations and tests, to answering emergency bells and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency.
  • Duties include IV administration of medication, administration of controlled drugs, palliative care including syringe drivers, and managing complex patients in response to emergencies alongside a paramedic.

  • NMC registered.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

  • Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment is desirable but not essential.
