Job Details:

Salary Range: £54,495 - £55,301 per annum (SM B or Green Book equivalent)

Work Location: HIWFRS HQ, Eastleigh (Hybrid Working – with a commitment to spending time in Partner FRS's on a weekly basis)

Hours per week: 37 or 42 (hours aligned to Grey or Green Book conditions)

Contract Type: Temporary (2 years) or Permanent dependent on Grey / Green Book

Closing Date: 4 January 2026

The Role:

The Networked Fire Services Partnership (NFSP) is a collaborative partnership between Hampshire & Isle of Wight FRS, Devon & Somerset FRS, Dorset & Wiltshire FRS and Kent FRS. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to help take us through the next stage of our transformation, with new projects on the horizon and projects already underway for completion.

We are seeking applications from individuals able to provide a key support function to the NFSP. You will act in the core of the partnership, working flexibly with colleagues across the 4 services to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the NFSP service.

You will be required to travel to various locations across the partnership and nationally as required and it is essential that you have a current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis. Responsibilities:
  • Run the portfolio of projects currently within the NFSP with the assistance of NFSP Project Management Office.
  • Assess and document future opportunities for the partnership and lead these through from opportunity analysis to embedding upon approval.
  • Active engagement with internal and external stakeholders from board level to end users, communicating effectively to ensure successful delivery of projects and the realisation of identified benefits.
  • Work across all the Services within the NFSP, understanding and liaising with all the partners.
  • Work with suppliers and their teams to deliver outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Grey Book conditions this role can be undertaken by individuals who are currently or were recently employed on the day duty, whole‑time duty or flexi duty system, depending on the successful applicant. To be eligible to apply for the role, you must be able to demonstrate that you are / were recently a temporary or substantive Station Manager or substantive Watch Manager working in an operational role in a UK Fire and Rescue Service.
