Qualifications

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge required.
  • Experience with accounting software and Excel is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities essential.

Responsibilities

  • Produce statutory reports and support year-end accounts.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and control account reviews.
  • Prepare and submit VAT and compliance returns.
  • Manage cashflow and forecasting.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting for management.
  • Lead external audits and liaise with auditors.

We are working exclusively with a fast-growing NI Top 100 company based in the Newtownabbey area, who are seeking to appoint aNewly Qualified Accountant (audit background) as they enter the next stage of their growth journey.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role will play a key part in delivering high-quality financial reporting, ensuring statutory compliance, strengthening internal controls, leading the year-end audit process, and supporting the ongoing development of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce statutory reports and support year-end accounts
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and control account reviews
  • Prepare and submit VAT and other HMRC/compliance returns
  • Manage cashflow and forecasting
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including depreciation
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting for senior management
  • Partner with operational teams to support decision-making
  • Lead external audits and liaise with auditorsSupport continuous improvement of finance processes and controls
  • Assist with ad hoc finance tasks as required
