Job description
Overview

We have a maternity leave vacancy with our Newborn Hearing Screening teams, working across Brighton, Princess Royal (Haywards Heath) and Worthing Hospitals.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the provision of hearing screening in Newborn babies within the Sussex area, under the supervision of the Hearing Screening Team Leader.
  • Carry out the hearing screening of babies within the Post-Natal Ward, Delivery Suite, Special Care Baby Unit and outpatient departments.
  • After screening, transfer data onto the NHSP database (S4H) and ensure accurate test results are communicated to parents and other health care professionals as required; complete notes.
  • Arrange referrals to the Audiology Department for diagnostic testing when appropriate and respond sensitively to parental concerns.
  • This position may require some weekend and bank holiday working.
  • Complete an external Competency Assessment in Newborn Hearing Screening.
Qualifications and Requirements

The post holder will be expected to meet the requirements of the External Competency Assessment in Newborn Hearing Screening and carry out duties across the listed hospital settings under supervision.
