Job summary

A dedicated HGV transport company in the UK is currently seeking a physically fit and confident individual for the role of a chassis inspector and load shunter. The successful candidate will prepare loads, conduct inspections, and assist with loading. A competent HGV driving license is essential, and forklift training will be provided. This role requires outdoor work in varying weather conditions and offers a Monday to Friday schedule with overtime available.

Job description

Intramast UK LTD are a small company dedicated to the inspection, storage, processing and loading of both HGV truck chassis and agricultural tractors onto specialist HGV transporter vehicles.

We are currently seeking a physically fit, keen, dynamic and confident individual to join our small team of new chassis inspectors and load shunter's, working in a very busy environment.

Your duties will include, but are not restricted to:

  • Prepare loads for loading, ensuring the correct driver handbook is placed in the cabs.
  • Undertake new chassis inspections and report any defects found.
  • Assist with transporter loading if required.
  • Compound maintenance.
  • Management of book stock.

All loading is outdoors. You must be prepared to work outside in inclement weather. Ideally suited to someone who enjoys the outdoors.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

You must be a competent HGV driver holding a driving licence with the following categories:

  • CE Vehicle over 3,500 kg with a trailer over 750 kg
  • C Vehicle over 3,500 kg with a trailer up to 750 kg
  • CE Vehicle over 3,500 kg with a trailer over 750 kg (with restriction code 102).
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
  • Forklift trained operator (Training will be provided to the successful applicant).
  • Previous experience in the HGV transport sector as a driver.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Excel.
HOURS OF WORK

Monday - Friday 7am-6pm or 8am-7pm. Over time is paid after 8hrs.

Saturday - By rotation 8am-12noon.

HOLIDAYS

33 days inclusive of 8 statutory Public Holidays.
