We currently have vacancies for Network Operation Technicians within the Pollution team to join our Customer Field Services department to cover the Seamer Wastewater site on the East Coast of Yorkshire. You may also work within surrounding areas on other Wastewater sites as part of delivering the best service to our customers.
We provide essential water and wastewater services to the Yorkshire region, 24/7, 365 days a year, supporting communities and protecting the environment.
As a Network Operation Technician, you will deliver a first-time fix and same-day solution to customer and environmental problems, and to deliver the asset plan for network maintenance to eliminate escapes. You will work field-based within a geographical team to improve customer service and wastewater network performance, ensuring a first-time fix and that quality follow-on work is raised to standards and specifications.
You will ensure correct site setup and POWRA are completed prior to and during jobs to identify risks and undertake corrective/preventive activity to stay safe at all times. You will maintain the sewerage network proactively and reactively to resolve issues and prevent sewer escapes (flooding and pollution).
You will work with Yorkshire Water teams and contracted partners on site to resolve and manage operational issues on the sewer network. You may operate different vehicle types depending on availability and the work attending.
You will undertake thorough investigations on the sewerage system to resolve issues and support other operational teams with asset investigations. You will use IT systems to collate information and relay feedback, and may maintain/install Customer Sewer Alarms and work with third-party providers as needed. You will collate data for evidence, including photographs and plans, and report on escapes/issues.
You will ensure health and safety practices are followed. You will demonstrate financial awareness in day-to-day decisions and provide technical support and first-line response to customer contacts to ensure a fix-first-time resolution and cost-effective outcomes.
