We currently have vacancies for Network Operation Technicians within our Pollutions team to join our Customer Field Services department to cover the Bradford area in West Yorkshire. You will need to be approximately 30 to 40 minutes away from our Esholt wastewater site where you will help Yorkshire Water provide the best service to our customers.
Work type: The permanent opportunities are 37-hour patterns, Monday to Friday, and will include standby, which may involve late, early and weekend work.

As our Network Operation Technician, you will deliver a first-time fix and same-day solution to customer and environmental problems, and manage the asset plan for network maintenance to eliminate escapes. You will work as a field-based technician within a geographical team to improve customer service and wastewater network performance, ensuring first-time fix and quality follow-on work in line with standards.
You will ensure correct site setup and POWRA are completed prior to and during jobs to identify risks and undertake corrective and preventive actions to stay safe at all times. You will proactively and reactively maintain the sewerage network to resolve and prevent sewage escapes (flooding and pollution) from occurring, ensuring no repeats.
You will work closely with other Yorkshire Water teams and contracted partners on site to resolve operational issues on the sewer network. You may need to operate different vehicle types depending on availability and job requirements. You will conduct thorough investigations to resolve issues and prevent repeat contacts, and support other teams with investigations into sewer asset problems. You will use IT systems to collect information and relay feedback, and collate data for evidence capturing (including photos, plans and reporting on escapes or issues).
You may maintain and install Customer Sewer Alarms and work with third-party providers where needed. You will ensure Health and Safety practices are followed, demonstrate financial awareness in day-to-day decisions, provide technical support, and aim for first-time fixes with cost-effective solutions.
