Overview

Job Title: Network Lead - Global | Division: Weir Business Services | Location: Glasgow Hybrid

Purpose of Role: As the Networks Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of Network Services across the global estate. You will require an in‑depth understanding of both traditional networking and Azure Networking, as well as solid, lived experience of supporting critical global, operational network services. Weir subscribes to the ‘Plan – Build – Run’ model. This role is mainly focused in the ‘Plan’ function, where forward thinking and strategic planning constitute the bulk of responsibility and engagement. Network solution design and collaboration with Weir Solution Architects will feature prominently. You will also contribute to Build activities, delivering products into service and handover into support, and provide leadership and operational oversight for the remaining ‘Build’ and all ‘Run’ operations of Network Services. Areas of responsibility include WAN, LAN, DC, and Cloud Azure networking. You will collaborate closely with other IS&T teams, vendors, and strategic partners to ensure that designs and services are delivered to the business in line with agreed service levels. There is a ‘Follow the Sun’ support and project delivery model, therefore working closely with colleagues in remote time zones will be a key part of this role.
