Overview

Job Title: NDT Technician (Level 2)

Salary: £40,500 per annum dependent upon experience + additional qualification payments (see below)

Location: Norwich

Our client is looking for an NDT Technician (Level 2) to join their team in Norwich.

Established more than 40 years ago, they are a leading Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) with 6 fully equipped heavy maintenance bays across 3 hangars and experience in many aircraft types including Embraer 170/190, Boeing 737: All series/ BAe 146 & Avro RJ. They specialise in providing base maintenance MRO services as well as CNC Milling, structural and composite repairs, trim/ paint and component repairs from their fully furnished workshop facility. In addition to this they also have a Part 147 Technical Training College which delivers a range of training solutions.

The position will be based in Norwich, working a 38.5 hour week, Monday- Friday. The hours of work from Mid April- Mid October are 7.30am- 2.30pm and from Mid October- Mid April are 7.30am- 4.30pm. Overtime is also available at the weekends and paid at 1.5 times.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft and component NDT inspection tasks in accordance with approved data, as directed by the NDT Supervisor and/or Workshop Manager
  • Ensure that all work performed on aircraft components is documented with the appropriate level of detail
  • Strive to achieve all deadlines and return dates to the Hangars
  • Ensure timely escalation of risks and recommended action to NDT Supervisor and/or Workshop Manager
  • Follow company Health & Safety policies at all times. Report all accidents and near misses
  • Maintain a clean environment through good housekeeping
  • Maintain and control all personal tooling according to company policy.

About You
  • Have completed an Engineering Apprenticeship or Armed Forces Aircraft / Workshops training in appropriate discipline.
  • Hold relevant EN4179 Level 2 NDT qualifications in eddy current, ultrasonic, magnetic particle and dye penetrant (this is essential).
  • Have City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ or similar relevant qualifications (approved by our Safety & Compliance team).
  • Be conversant with Health & Safety legislation
  • Be competent in the use of IT systems
  • Have evidence of Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety Training and EWIS Training.
  • Be decisive and able to escalate where necessary in a timely manner
  • Have strong commercial and financial awareness
  • Be an effective communicator, using appropriate methods considerate of audience.
  • Have the ability to negotiate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
