A supportive family in North London is looking for a part-time SEN Nanny/Manny to help care for their two boys, aged 11 and 5, both diagnosed with autism. The ideal candidate will have experience with special educational needs and emotional regulation. Responsibilities include engaging in gaming, supporting bedtime routines, and ensuring a calm and reassuring presence. The role emphasizes patience, emotional attunement, and a genuine interest in child development. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact in the boys' lives.
A wonderful part-time opportunity for a professional SEN Nanny/Manny to support an engaging, bright boy of 11 and his brother, aged 5, who both have autism diagnoses (ASC).
Start Date: ASAP.
Days & Hours: Sunday 9.00am-5.00pm, plus one evening of babysitting per week (6.00pm-9.30pm), by mutual agreement.
Pets in Home: 2 cats and on the waiting list for an assistance dog.
The family is seeking a confident, experienced part‑time SEN Nanny/Manny to join their weekend support team. The role suits someone experienced with autism and anxiety, ideally with an interest in gaming, which is an important connection for both boys. The focus is on building trust, co‑regulation, and calm, positive interaction.
Tom may become emotionally dysregulated and may cry or need space; reassurance and a calm presence are essential. He enjoys video games, conversation, and TV. Chris also enjoys gaming, and weekends include play, friendship‑building, and occasional playdates. The boys can dysregulate each other, so sensitive support is required.
Evening duties include supporting Chris's 7.00pm bedtime routine, then checking Tom has eaten, offering snacks if needed, and helping him wind down for bed. Clear communication, teamwork, and emotional awareness are highly valued.
This role suits an experienced professional confident in co‑regulation and supporting anxiety and emotional needs. A background in psychology or trauma‑informed care is beneficial. You'll be patient, emotionally attuned, and genuinely interested in gaming and child development.
Tom (11) and Chris (5) live with their parents in North London. Chris recently attended a local primary school full-time, while Tom is currently home educated. Tom is a passionate gamer who enjoys PC games, TV, and has a growing interest in biology. He is supported by a tutor, Buddy/PA, and a full‑time weekday SEN Manny, and attends boxing training twice a week. Tom has diagnoses of autism, anxiety, depression, PDA, and EBSA. He finds loud noises, certain foods, leaving the house, crowds, and unexpected routine changes challenging.
Chris is lively, affectionate, and chatty. Recently diagnosed with ASC and showing ADHD traits, he also experiences EBSA and currently finds leaving the house difficult. He needs gentle support to use the toilet independently.
