Overview

A lovely family in Newbury, West Berkshire, seeks a Live-in Nanny-Housekeeper to care for their newborn and school-aged child while keeping the home clean and well-organised. This role is ideal for someone responsible, nurturing, and able to balance childcare with household tasks. The family has a dog and prefers a pet-friendly candidate. The nanny-housekeeper must also be comfortable travelling internationally with the family. A driver confident with both automatic and manual vehicles is required. Proficiency in Thai or Tagalog is a bonus; English-speaking candidates will also be considered. A valid First Aid qualification is essential for this role.

Working hours

Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, approximately 55 hours per week.

Accommodation

Main house, own bedroom and bathroom or separate cottage.

Duties
  • Assist with nappy changes and prepare bottles for infants
  • Bathe the children and ensure proper hygiene is maintained
  • Safeguard the children’s safety, well-being, and development at all times
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks tailored to the children’s needs
  • Keep children’s bedrooms and play areas clean, tidy, and well organised
  • Engage the children in interactive play, educational activities, and outdoor outings such as visits to the park
  • Encourage early literacy by reading books with the children
  • Establish and maintain consistent daily routines to support the children’s structure and development
  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the household
  • Perform routine floor care, including sweeping, hoovering, and mopping
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
  • Clean and sanitise bathrooms, including sinks, baths, and showers
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen area
  • Wash, dry, and organise clothing and household linens
  • Manage laundry tasks, including ironing and folding
  • Make beds and replace linens as required
  • Clean and organise dishware, including loading and unloading the dishwasher
  • Assist with cooking and the preparation of healthy meals for the family
Location and salary

Location: Newbury, West Berkshire

Salary: £700 to £850 gross per week
