A leading housing organization in the UK is seeking a Maintenance Operative to join their Damp and Mould Team. This role involves performing high-quality repairs and planned maintenance across various properties. Candidates should have recognized qualifications in building trades, plumbing and carpentry competency, and experience in domestic repairs. The position offers a competitive salary of £39,968 per annum along with generous benefits including holidays, pension schemes, and flexible working options.
Join our Damp and Mould Team, where you can use your expertise across a range of trades to help maintain and improve our homes. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality repairs, planned maintenance, and improvement works to both tenanted and vacant properties across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire. Working 42.5 hours per week, you’ll take pride in completing every job to a high standard, making a real difference to the quality, safety, and comfort of our residents’ homes.

You will provide a high-quality service undertaking maintenance work to our tenanted or vacant properties.
Undertake quality responsive/void repairs, planned maintenance and other works, providing a range of skills across various trade disciplines.
Demonstrate a high level of competency in plumbing and carpentry
Undertake all appropriate instructions and tasks with due diligence
Carry out all duties in accordance with the safety policies and specific codes of practise
Ensure appropriate personal protective clothing/equipment is worn/used at all times
Carry out the additional works and variations and complete the associated paperwork in the prescribed manner
Demonstrate reasonable accuracy in estimating the amount of materials required to complete a works order
Withdraw and return excess materials in the prescribed manner
Ensure any materials purchased from outside supplies are obtained in the prescribed manner and delivery or collection notes are submitted to the line manager
Undertake weekly vehicle checks. Eg oil level, water levels, tyres etc. Clean vehicle at least once a week. Ensure vehicle defects are reported.
A recognised building or trade qualification specific to one or more trades
Must demonstrate a high level of competency in plumbing and carpentry.

Experience of occupied and unoccupied domestic property repair and refurbishment, specifically relating to refitting of bathrooms and kitchens.
Knowledge of health and safety issues within the building industry and follow health and safety guidelines

Participate in out of hours standby rota
Full clean UK driving licence
