Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Food Manufacturing | Days | Greenock

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Location: Greenock

Hours: 40-45 per week | Days, Monday-Thursday

The Role

Reporting into the Chief Engineer and working closely with the wider engineering team, your responsibilities will include:

• Attending and resolving machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across site equipment
• Prioritising reactive work in line with production targets
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Working on a variety of process and packaging machinery, including:
  • Steam boilers
  • Compressors, pumps and valves
  • Conveyors, weighers and packaging machines

About You

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Strong mechanical background with electrical fault-finding capability
• Previous experience within food or FMCG manufacturing
• A proactive, hands‑on approach to maintenance and problem‑solving
