As Loadhog continues to grow and expand, the business is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to become part of a thriving organisation and contribute to its ongoing success.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this is a full-time, permanent position. The role operates on a Panama 12-hour rotating shift pattern, including days and nights. There may be occasions where working hours need to align with business requirements, so a flexible, proactive, and can-do attitude is essential.

What is the role?

The primary responsibility of the role is to carry out repair and planned maintenance activities on injection moulding machines, plant facilities, and associated equipment. There is also the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement projects that support both personal development and operational performance.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering clear written and verbal handovers to incoming shifts and the wider engineering team to ensure continuity and shared awareness of ongoing issues
  • Performing scheduled maintenance across all site equipment, including:
    • Engel injection moulding machines and associated ancillaries
    • Washplant systems
    • Industrial printers
    • Six-axis robots and automated conveyors
    • Material handling systems
    • Plant room assets and general factory infrastructure
  • Responding promptly and effectively to equipment breakdowns, minimising production downtime and resolving faults efficiently
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance activities to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reliability, and long-term machine performance
  • Supporting process optimisation by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
  • Demonstrating a proactive approach to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Operating with a positive, can-do attitude while upholding company values and contributing to a collaborative, solutions-focused working environment
  • Accurately recording time spent during shifts using timesheets and correctly assigning downtime and maintenance activities within the Gemba system to support data-driven decision-making
  • Progressing engineering projects independently as assigned by the Engineering Manager and providing regular updates
  • Using Ecconect software to log moulding machine issues with Engel that cannot be resolved by on-shift engineers

The successful candidate should demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment and/or completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent qualification

Ideally, the candidate will be electrically biased, with strong mechanical capability and experience. Knowledge of some or all of the following would be advantageous:

  • Maintenance of Engel injection moulding machines
  • Pneumatics
  • Hydraulics
  • Bench fitting
  • Milling and turning
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
  • PLC programming or interrogation (desirable but not essential)
  • Electrical fault finding
  • Electrical installations and testing
