Overview

Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrically Biased) – Harlow, Essex

Salary: 53,000 - 55,000

Hours: Monday-Friday 6am-2:15pm / 2pm-10:15pm

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, supplying to all the major supermarkets online food delivery companies, wholesale and restaurant chains. They are looking for an experienced multi-skilled engineer (electrically biased) to join their team.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Carry out both electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs on high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, automation / control systems & associated equipment
  • Work closely with the engineering manager to create new SOPs, PPM plans & schedules for new production lines & packaging machinery that have recently been installed
  • Challenging role, which would suit a self-starter who can monitor production line efficiencies, suggest improvements and monitor real time data
  • Mixture of hands-on maintenance & repairs and improvement activities
  • Installation & commissioning of new machinery & production lines
  • Continuous improvement project work - Factory Acceptance Testing
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Must be a multi-skilled engineer - electrically biased
  • Will suit an engineer that is happy to be hands-on, but also carry out machine condition monitoring, asset care management & project work
  • Ideally have worked in a projects based role - suggest improvements, create new SOPs, PPMs
  • Must have worked in food manufacturing
  • Strong electrical fault finding & repairs skills
  • NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC Engineering
  • Knowledge of creating new PPM plans and schedules
  • PLC - electrical fault finding
  • Use of SAP beneficial
  • Ideally have completed a time-served-apprenticeship
  • Strong communicator - working closely with the engineering manager, production teams, quality
  • Must be able to think on own initiative and work unsupervised
  • Flexible character with approach to new machinery, working hours
