Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPMs on a variety of processing, production, packaging and site facilities equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns and complete reactive maintenance as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist on projects alongside the wider engineering team.
  • Ensure CMMS information is kept accurate and up to date.

Multi-skilled Engineer (Snetterton)

Location: Snetterton (commutable from Thetford, Attleborough, Wymondham, Diss, Norwich, Bury St Edmunds, Dereham, Brandon, Watton, and surrounding areas).

Are you an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer looking to join a market‑leading manufacturer, where you'll work with a great team and a wide variety of machinery in a diverse and rewarding role?

My client is seeking a proactive engineer who can thrive in a busy FMCG environment, supporting production through both planned and reactive maintenance and assisting with lean activities and project work.

You’ll be working a Monday to Friday rotational shift pattern (6‑2, 2‑10, 10‑6) with occasional weekend on‑call cover, rotated within the team.

The salary is c.£50,000 per year plus overtime opportunities and a wide range of additional benefits:

The Multi-skilled Engineer will:

  • Carry out PPMs on a variety of processing, production, packaging and site facilities equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns and complete reactive maintenance as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist on projects alongside the wider engineering team.
  • Ensure CMMS information is kept accurate and up to date.
  • Work with equipment including mixers, check‑weighers, fillers, flow‑wrappers, and conveyors.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Stand‑alone electrical qualification (essential).
  • Previous experience as a multi‑skilled engineer within FMCG/manufacturing.
  • Experience with site plant and facilities.
  • The ability to work independently and use their initiative.
  • Good communication, numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Exposure to TPM/WCM/Lean methodologies (desirable).
