Job description
Overview

We're looking for a dedicated and reliable Multisite Cleaning Operative to join our Streetscene team, helping to keep our public conveniences and other council-owned buildings clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors across the New Forest. This is a varied and active role where you'll work across multiple sites, either independently or as part of a team, delivering high standards of cleanliness and customer service. You'll be a visible and valued part of our frontline services, often the first point of contact for members of the public.

What you'll be doing
  • Working a rota pattern over 7 days per week, which averages 37hrs per week.
  • Carrying out scheduled and reactive cleaning duties across council buildings and public conveniences.
  • Ensuring facilities are safe, hygienic, and well-stocked.
  • Conducting basic maintenance checks and legionella monitoring.
  • Using council vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Experience in cleaning or facilities maintenance (desirable).
  • A full UK manual driving licence (minimum 3.5 tonne).
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Awareness of COSHH regulations and safe working practices.
  • Strong communication and customer care skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and handle challenging situations professionally.
Other requirements
  • You'll be provided with full training, PPE, and the tools you need to succeed.
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS check and manual handling training (provided within the first month).
