Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join the Centre for Sustainable Delivery’s Modernising Patient Pathways Programme (MPPP) on a fixed term/secondment basis for 12 months to provide maternity cover.

This role will provide the post holder with a unique opportunity to support improvements and recovery of waiting times in planned care at a national level as part of the Centre for Sustainable Delivery’s Modernising Patient Pathways Programme. This role will support the implementation of a range of activities designed to support Health Boards, identify best practice, deliver redesign and embed sustainable improvements.

The post holder will be comfortable working in close collaboration with a wide range of key partners and stakeholders, in both national and territorial Health Boards, and will be able to apply strong project management skills and communicate a clear vision for change.

The successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to secure clinical and operational engagement and drive safe, effective and person-centred improvements in care on a Once for Scotland basis. They will exhibit a demonstrable in-depth understanding of project management and improvement methodologies, with recognised expertise in practical application. The ability to work within a political context, a fast-paced environment, managing deadlines and being responsive to changing priorities is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Support improvements and recovery of waiting times in planned care at a national level as part of the Modernising Patient Pathways Programme.
  • Assist in implementing activities designed to support Health Boards, identify best practice, deliver redesign and embed sustainable improvements.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of partners and stakeholders in national and territorial Health Boards; apply strong project management skills and communicate a clear vision for change.
  • Secure clinical and operational engagement and drive safe, effective, and person-centred improvements in care on a Once for Scotland basis.
  • Lead, manage, develop and implement national improvement projects that deliver measurable improvements in care to patients across Scotland.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to secure engagement and drive improvements.
  • Demonstrable understanding of project management and improvement methodologies with practical application.
  • Ability to work within a political context, in a fast-paced environment, and manage deadlines amid changing priorities.
