Job summary

A specialized transport equipment provider is seeking a Mobile Service Engineer to join their Service Division. This field-based position will mostly cover the South of England, ideal for candidates based in Hampshire. As a Mobile Service Engineer, you will work independently, servicing and maintaining traffic management vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical systems, excellent customer service skills, and a full UK driving licence. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Due to continued business growth, we are looking for a Mobile Service Engineer to join our dedicated Service Division. This field‑based role will predominantly cover the south of England.

Role Overview

As a Mobile Service Engineer, you’ll work independently, travelling to customer sites to service, maintain, and repair specialist Impact Protection Vehicles (IPVs), trailers, and bespoke traffic management equipment. You’ll play a vital role in upholding our reputation for high‑quality service and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faults in vehicle‑mounted traffic management equipment and trailers
  • Conduct routine maintenance and field modifications
  • Complete service documentation accurately and promptly
  • Maintain your service van, tools, and supplies
  • Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication
  • Stay informed on industry updates and innovations
  • Identify potential opportunities for additional services or equipment
  • Provide estimates and repair advice to customers when needed
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies
What We’re Looking For
  • Hands‑on experience with 12 / 24v electrical systems and basic hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical drawings
  • Previous experience maintaining or repairing HGVs
  • Traffic management equipment experience is an advantage but not essential
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • A proactive, positive, and team‑oriented attitude
  • Desire to learn and grow within the role
  • Full UK driving licence
