Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to join CBRE Global Workplace Solutions, a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Mobile Engineer to work at sites across the Midlands including Hinckley, Rugby, and Coventry. The successful candidate will ensure all environmental conditions are maintained, carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive, and breakdown works on mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Travel to sites across the advertised locations. A full UK driving license is required.
  2. Perform routine PPM (to SFG 20) on all mechanical and electrical plant according to site schedules and asset lists.
  3. Complete reactive tasks and proactively identify areas for improvement, including concessionary stores and fabric-related items.
  4. Quickly remedy plant faults and defects to maintain operational status.
  5. Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance and reactive works, providing parts lists and time estimates.
  6. Complete all paperwork related to PPM, reactive, and breakdown works promptly and accurately.
  7. Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safety.
  8. Develop good working relationships with CBRE staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  9. Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing PPE and uniforms.
  10. Present a professional image of CBRE Managed Services at all times.
  11. Keep up-to-date shift logs.
  12. Ensure plant rooms are locked, clean, and tidy.
  13. Supervise and monitor subcontractors during maintenance works.
  14. Arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible with working patterns.
  15. Undertake lone working when required, after passing training.
  16. Complete assigned tasks with appropriate H&S awareness.
  17. Adhere to contractual KPIs/SLA's.
  18. Maintain the Computer-Based Maintenance system (SI LOCAL), ensuring tickets are closed with accurate data.
  19. Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with CBRE and client safety procedures.
  20. Provide holiday and emergency cover, possibly at different sites.
  21. Perform any other tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications

Education

  • Good basic education, proficiency in English.
  • Basic Mathematics skills.
  • CITY AND GUILDS qualification in a relevant field.

Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Calm under pressure, able to make sound decisions.
  • Physically fit to carry tools and components up to 20kg.
  • Able to access heights and work at heights safely.
  • Team player, able to work with CBRE and client representatives.
  • Good PC skills.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of building works, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures.
  • Trained in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
  • BMS knowledge.
  • Mechanical and commissioning experience.
  • Recognised Health and Safety Qualification, such as IOSH.
  • Understanding of UPS, Generators, HV systems, PDU’s, CRAC units, fault-finding using graphical info and alarm data.
  • Knowledge of maintainable assets vs. BPL maintained assets in lab and production environments.

Experience

  • Mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Experience maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • General building works, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Building services systems and maintenance schedules.

Circumstances

  • Willing to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice, flexible working patterns.
  • Full UK driving license required.
