A healthcare provider in Wales is seeking a dedicated Midwife to provide care for low risk pregnant women in both community and hospital settings. The successful candidate will have the ability to work autonomously and collaborate with medical teams as needed. Registration with the UK NMC is essential, along with skills in perineal suturing, IV cannulation, and previous obstetric experience. A competitive salary between £39,263 to £47,280 per annum pro rata is offered.

Maternity Services are provided over 3 sites and we are able to offer women and staff the 4 birthing environments: home, freestanding birth centre, alongside birth centre and obstetric labour ward.
The environment in the Prince Charles Site level 2 has undergone major refurbishment in 2019. We offer care to women in our obstetric unit and we have an alongside midwifery led unit. We have increased the number of pools to 3 and are able to offer in addition a bereavement room and generally an enhanced environment for both women and staff.
Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend is a Level 2 Maternity Unit. We are able to offer low risk women the opportunity to labour and birth in our alongside Midwifery Led room, the Bluebell Suite and in our newly refurbished Birthing Pool room on the obstetric unit. Our Obstetric services support women requiring increased surveillance during labour.
The Post Holder will provide all aspects of midwifery care for low risk pregnant women in both the community and hospital setting. The Post Holder, as a registered Midwife, will practice autonomously using knowledge, skills and abilities for safe, effective practice without direct supervision. Care of high risk women will be in conjunction with the Obstetric Medical Team.
The Post Holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for clients in all areas of Maternity service.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn have skills in Welsh, we consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
