Qualifications

  • One year’s laboratory experience is required.
  • Knowledge of UKAS and ISO methods is necessary.
  • Experience with laboratory electronic management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform plate reading, confirmation and identification of tests.
  • Provide training, supervision, and guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Ensure samples are handled according to documented procedures.
  • Perform calibrations, daily checks, and quality-related tasks.
  • Contribute to technical and operational improvement in the lab.

Job Description

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role

37.5 Hours per week.Wednesday - Sunday. 08:00 - 16:00.

To complete analysis of Water Samples within the Laboratory in accordance with documented procedures and provide technical expertise and interpretation of results.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform plate reading, confirmation and identification of tests in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Provide training, supervision, and guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Provide technical expertise and interpretation of results.
  • Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage, and maintenance of sample integrity.
  • Good knowledge of Laboratory Quality System in order to comply with the policies, procedures and associated documents.
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate and systematic records as detailed in the quality procedures.
  • Perform Calibrations, Daily checks and other quality related tasks as required.
  • Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
  • Report any anomalies or concerns to direct report.
  • Comply with Health and Safety procedures keeping the working environment clean and tidy
  • Maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment as directed.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
  • Contribute to technical and operational improvement in the lab
  • Identify and raise issues
  • Problem solve and work proactively to anticipate problems
Qualifications
  • Maths, English, Chemistry or Biology at GCSE grade C or above or equivalent
  • Knowledge of UKAS, ISO methods
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • One year’s laboratory experience.
  • Experience in a fast paced working environment.
  • Experience of Laboratory electronic management systems
  • Good laboratory skills and practices
  • Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook
