Metal Finishing Operative

Location: Whitstable

Full time, permanent position

We're recruiting for a Metal Finishing Operative to join an established manufacturing team in Whitstable. This role focuses on preparing and finishing components to high-quality standards, following strict production and safety procedures. While the main focus is wiring and preparation work, there's also an opportunity to learn additional finishing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and follow documentation for all finishing operations
  • Work in line with manufacturing, quality, and health & safety procedures
  • Follow production plans and complete accurate quality records
  • Select and apply correct jigging, wiring, and barrelling methods
  • Safely handle chemicals used within the finishing department
  • Use inspection tools such as x-ray spectrometers and carry out visual checks
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
What We're Looking For
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
  • Ability to follow processes and safety guidelines
  • Willingness to learn new techniques
  • Previous experience in metal finishing or similar hands‑on work is beneficial but not essential
