Job summary

A health services provider in the UK is seeking professionals for mental health assessments and crisis support. The role involves providing assessments, clinical interventions, and guidance to patients and families. This position offers flexibility with full and part-time hours, rewarding commitment with a £3,000 Recruitment Premium and a £1,500 annual Retention Premium, subject to review. Ideal candidates will have the ability to work in a 24/7 service environment, which includes various shifts such as weekends and nights.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct telephone and face-to-face mental health assessments.
  • Provide brief clinical interventions and support.
  • Signpost and make referrals for further assistance.
  • Validate and de-escalate crises while coaching emotional regulation strategies.
  • Empower patients and families to manage distress effectively.
  • Complete urgent assessments across Dorset when necessary.
  • Provide clinical information and support to professionals and emergency services.
  • Support police and ambulance services in mental health crises.
  • Supervise Mental Health Support Workers and provide guidance.
Job description
Responsibilities
  • Telephone and face‑to‑face mental health assessments
  • Brief clinical interventions and support
  • Signposting and referrals
  • Validating, de‑escalating crisis and coaching people in distress tolerance and emotional regulation strategies
  • Use of brief interventions to empower patients, carers and families to manage distress and crisis effectively
  • Opportunity to complete urgent face‑to‑face assessments across Dorset when indicated
  • Providing clinical information, advice and support to other professionals and emergency services
  • Supporting police and ambulance service in accessing most appropriate support for those presenting in mental health crisis
  • Supervising and supporting the Mental Health Support Workers within the team, providing guidance and support

We are committed to professional development and support, offering internal and external training/education programmes and supervision.

Full and part time hours available. This is a 24/7 service with shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays and nights. All reasonable flexible working requests will be considered.

This role includes a £3,000 Recruitment Premium lump sum on commencement of employment and thereafter a further £1,500 Retention Premium per annum (pro‑rata), paid in equal monthly instalments provided you remain in post and subject to review by the Trust.
