Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Mental Health Liaison Team, a Psychiatric Liaison Service which works out of three Acute hospitals in Coventry, Nuneaton and Warwick. We have secured funding to recruit additional Band 6 clinicians to join our expanding multidisciplinary team to enhance our service in line with the NHS 5 year Forward View for Mental Health to achieve a CORE 24 service. This will include in the near future developing into facilitating initial community follow-up in line with CORE 24 objectives. We are strengthening our team and are looking for skilled, motivated and compassionate practitioners as we increase our hours of service and aim to offer a more responsive and comprehensive service for people who attend A&E or are receiving care in a general hospital.

You will need experience of working with people across a broad spectrum of mental disorders including people who self-harm or who are in mental health crisis or experiencing mental disorders associated with ageing.

Responsibilities
  • Join a well-established, supportive team of experienced practitioners including Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Support Workers, and a Clinical Trainer to support new staff joining the team.
  • Deliver a 24/7/365 service to the Acute Trust hospitals (CORE 24 objectives) with flexible shifts, including weekends and nights, across three sites.
  • Work in partnership with other teams and services, including the Acute Trust hospitals, to provide a high-standard service.
  • Contribute to facilitating initial community follow-up as the role develops.
  • Engage with people attending A&E or in care within a general hospital setting across a broad range of mental health needs.
Qualifications
  • Professional registration in mental health nursing, social work or allied health professionals.
  • Demonstrable clinical experience and excellent communication skills; strong team player.
  • Passionate and committed to delivering a high standard of service and working in partnership with other teams and services.
  • Background in Adult Mental Health, Learning Disability and/or Older Adults Mental Health is desirable.

Location and role details: NHS AfC Band 6; Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults and older adults across multiple sites in Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull. The service sees a large daily patient flow and operates across three sites in Coventry, Nuneaton and Warwick.
