Job Description

As a Menswear Garment Technologist, you'll be working the Menswear Technical team, reporting to the Head of Technical. This is a highly collaborative role, where you'll work closely with the Buying, Merchandising, Design, Digital and Fabric teams. It's important that you are self‑motivated and can take ownership of the responsibilities on your department.

Aside from technical experience, organisational and analytical skills are essential, as are good time management and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

What you’ll be doing...
  • Working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Design, Digital, Fabric and the supply base, Supporting the Head of category to achieve KPIs, including right first time sealing hit rate
  • Working with the Design/ Buying team to get a ‘right first time’ sample and improve sealing hit rate.
  • Taking ownership of the fit and sealing process, embedding virtual fitting on Optitex as the new norm and ensuring that suppliers and buyers are fully engaged in the Optitex fit process.
  • Risk assessing product quality standards and production issues including safety, wearer trials, performance, minimum make standards and potential production issues.
  • Ensuring that the correct block and fabric reference is selected during Design Brief stage prior to being sent to supplier.
  • Delivering Supplier Self Gold Seal status to ensure suppliers meet criteria for Self‑Approval.
  • Supporting the Offshore QC auditors regarding technical queries to ensure shipments are not delayed due to incorrect technical packs provided with the Gold Seal.
Skills
  • Multi Product experience, but working on Knitwear would be beneficial
  • Experience in pattern cutting and grading
  • Experience of working within a high street retailer
  • Self‑motivation and the ability to take the initiative and respond quickly to change.
  • Strong communication and networking skills across all levels
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the business and with suppliers
  • Reliable, flexible, and good at working within a fast‑paced team
