A regional health service in Wales is seeking a committed registered Pharmacy Technician to join their pharmacy team. This position at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital involves dispensing prescriptions and participating in various clinical duties. Applicants should hold a BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences and have an Accredited Checking Technician qualification. The Medicines Management Directorate has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed registered Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Our Band 5 Technicians are valued members of the multidisciplinary team at ward level and work as ACTs in the automated, Technician led dispensary. You will gain experience across a variety of clinical specialities, working closely with pharmacists and other health care professionals to deliver a high quality, patient focussed medicines management service. We are committed to the development of the Technician Role and can offer excellent in house training, where you will be supported and encouraged to further develop yourself.
Applicants must have a BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Equivalent Qualifications to enable them to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council. The successful candidate must also hold an Accredited Checking Technician qualification and be in a position to work towards the Accredited Medicines Management qualification.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This does not mean essential; while the candidate does not need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just speaking and listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
