Job description

To provide full Medical Secretarial support service to consultants and members of their team in respect of their general medical duties/specialist work.

To act independently, ensuring that daily tasks and on-going workloads are prioritised within required time frames.

To ensure that the service is providing the highest quality administration and effective communication with patients and members of the outside organisation.

To ensure the successful implementation and roll out of admin systems and procedures within the department.

Main duties of the job

To act as a central point of information and communication for the clinical team as the first point of contact to include internal and external bodies.

Manages admin workload of relevant consultants without direct supervision.

To provide a full secretarial support service to consultants and members of their team in respect to their general medical duties and specialist work including dealing with competing demands and frequent demands.

To act independently ensuring that daily tasks and ongoing workloads are prioritised and completed in agreed timeframes.

Undertake a comprehensive range of administrative duties including, organising meetings, typing, scanning of documentation on to Trust systems, spreadsheet management, clinic preparation eg, ensuring clinical documentation is readily available.

To produce correspondence by utilising digital transcription.
