A healthcare facility in Wolverhampton is seeking a dedicated medical receptionist. Responsibilities include managing patient calls, making appointments, and maintaining accurate records. Ideal candidates should possess excellent communication skills, be organized, and have a commitment to confidentiality. Experience with EMIS and DocMan systems is preferred. This role requires up to 30 hours per week with a two-shift rota.
Dueto continued growth and staff development within our Practice we are seeking to increase ourreception team to build on our commitment in delivering high qualityservices to our patients. The role requires accurate and precise processingskills, and someone who is hard working, and able to work both independentlyand within a team.
Keyskills include confidentiality, reliability, excellent communication andattention to detail; ideally (but not essential) someone who already hasexperience of general practice in the NHS.
Specific hours up to 30 per week to be discussed with applicants and are likely to be on a two shift rota pattern i.e. week 1 8.00am to 1.30pm and week 2 1.15pm to 6.45pm.
To handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls to and from the practice in a timely, friendly and courteous manner
To meet and greet patients, members of the public and visitors to the practice in a friendly and courteous manner
To deal with patients requests through to completion
Prefer experience in GP clinical systems - EMIS & DocMan
Make appointments for patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the primary health care team
General Administration, including entering and maintaining appropriate information on patient records
Process Internal Tasks
Register new patients on the computer system
Processing of internal post
Clinical coding of patient information
Understand and use the practice email, notification and intranet system
To cover repeat prescription system when necessary
Closing and securing of the building at the end of the working day
Comply with all in-house and statutory Fire and Health & Safety policies
Attend practice meetings
Attend training courses in-house and externally to develop expertise and further knowledge
When taking over a duty from another colleague at change over of staff, ensure that all relevant and appropriate messages/details are passed on to ensure continuity
Any duty that may be properly deemed by the Management Team or Doctors to be part of the role of a medical receptionist.
Castlecroft is a traditional GP surgery in South WestWolverhampton serving around 12,800 patients. The practice is based in a large purpose builtmedical centre with 8 GPs, 2 ANPs, 5 Nurses and 1 HCA, along with an admin and reception team of 18.
