To support in providing a professional cost effective, efficient clinical and non-clinical photographic service using digital technologies to service the Trusts three sites. To provide image management services. To provide a quality photographic service tailored to the needs of the department. To perform administrative and clerical tasks as necessary for the efficiency of the service. Accountable to department head.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the busy dynamic photographic division of the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals Trust. The Medical Photography Department is based in the Royal Victoria Infirmary and provides a wide range of photographic services for the Trust / Outreach Clinics / Newcastle Hospitals at Cramlington, including evening and weekend working. To work effectively in a team of 23 with supervision and training to provide an efficient, reliable and high quality imaging service. We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, conscientious and motivated individual who is able to demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team. You must have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Comprehension of photographic principles and application of theoretical and practical knowledge/skills alongside a clear working knowledge of Photoshop. You will be based primarily within Clinical Photography but will also undertake Ophthalmic Photography, to efficiently provide a range of imaging services including retinal photography, anterior segment photography and optical coherence tomography (OCT). You must have a HND in photography or equivalent is essential. We would like to see a varied portfolio of photography work with evidence using Adobe Photoshop. Being able to provide a professional service maintaining the safety and well-being of the patients. To provide a photographic service to provide high quality images for clinicians to help diagnose conditions. Being able to provide good communication skills, be able to work autonomously and as part of a team and provide a flexible approach to working.
