An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised Band 4 Medical Personal Assistant (37.5 hours per week) to work with the CAMHS Specialist services at Junction 17. We are seeking an medical personal assistant with a can-do attitude who enjoys working in a large team and demonstrates a commitment to delivering high quality administration support in an efficient and timely manner.

Main duties of the job

To provide a full and comprehensive PA role to multiple consultants, clinical staff and members of the multi-disciplinary team within the Specialist Services Care Group.

You will be a well organised and experienced administrator with knowledge of medical terminology. You will ensure all consultants and clinicians within your area of responsibility are organised and equipped to fulfil their responsibilities. Appropriate electronic and paper filing systems will be maintained, along with coordinating their clinical activities.

To carry out all relevant tasks pertinent to the Specialist role of the Consultant Psychiatrists.

This role will be responsible for the effective coordination of the referral system.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Relevant Level 3 competency based qualification (RSA/OCR/NVQ/Business Admin)
Experience
  • Experience of EPR system
  • Evidence of Leadership/supervisory skills
  • Previous Medical Secretarial experience
  • NHS experience, preferably in a Mental Health setting
  • Experience of working as part of a team, working to tight deadlines
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to navigate Microsoft packages, ie Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc
  • Knowledge of referrals, admission and discharge policies and procedures
  • Minute taking experience
  • Experience of using a digital dictation system
