Job description
Overview

Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals for a Medical Laboratory Assistant post in the department of Blood Sciences at Dorset County Hospital Foundation Trust.

The department provides a wide range of analytical, diagnostic and interpretative services to hospitals, clinics and GP practices.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake basic laboratory tasks including specimen reception, keyboard entry of data into the laboratory management system, and preparation of laboratory materials.
  • Working in the specimen reception area, ensure that samples received into the department are recorded and prepared appropriately. Triage requests to fast track urgent work as needed.
