Medical Affairs Specialist – CNAP

The Medical Affairs Specialist for CNAP is a key point of contact for the Business Area, supporting the Director of Medical Affairs CNAP to drive the generation of the clinical evidence needs of Convatec’s next‑generation adaptive platforms. This role contributes to the development and delivery of the ConvaNiox clinical roadmap, developing Market Access and Evidence Plans (MAEPs), conducting post‑market surveillance, and contributing to the design of clinical studies (RCTs, observational studies, etc.). The specialist acts as a bridge between CNAP and internal stakeholders, establishing cross‑functional evidence strategy teams and supporting the Director of Medical Affairs to secure alignment across the business through transparent, clear communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical knowledge in wound care and serve as the primary point of contact in dedicated areas.
  • Represent Medical Affairs CNAP for all product development projects, aligning with CNtV processes.
  • Capture evidence needs for NPD regulatory, marketing, and commercial purposes.
  • Develop and continuously update MAEPs throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with R&D, marketing, and commercial leadership while addressing regulatory, payer, and provider requirements.
  • Own clinical evidence strategy and high‑level study outlines in collaboration with Clinical Operations or Clinical Data and Statistical Sciences.
  • Assist in planning and executing clinical trials, research, and data collection activities.
  • Implement clinical protocols and facilitate completion of final reports.
  • Serve as a medical affairs consultant to marketing, commercial, or research project teams and government regulatory agencies.
  • Interpret medical intelligence and scientific data from diverse sources to support decision‑making.

Skills & Experience
  • Relevant medical or scientific education in wound care or a similar field.
  • 10 years of experience in medical clinical or scientific affairs within the medical device industry.
  • Analytical thinking and a scientific mindset.
  • Problem‑solving and solution‑oriented approach.
  • Strong networking, organizational, and entrepreneurial skills with a sense of ownership.
  • Transparent and consistent communication that drives results.
  • Ability to engage cross‑functional teams and negotiate effectively.

Qualifications / Education
  • PhD, MSc, or equivalent higher degree in a biological science (e.g., biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, immunology) or biomedical science (e.g., medicine, nursing, pathology, regenerative medicine).
  • Alternatively, time‑served experience in relevant scientific or clinical roles.
