Mechatronics Engineer – Job Description

The Denroy Group is looking to recruit a Mechatronics Engineer to join the Group Technology Services Department. Reporting to the Group Technology Services Manager, in this role you will help with the design, development, implementation and maintenance of complex systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering components to improve our company’s products and processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and contribute to cutting-edge technology. Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with design and production teams to ensure all system components meet functionality, reliability, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Creating detailed technical specifications and design documentation for mechatronic systems and components.
  • Working on system automation, robotics, and control engineering projects to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conducting simulations and modelling to optimise system performance and identify potential improvements.
  • Analysing system failures and implementing improvement and corrective actions.
  • Managing the project lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring timely delivery of systems and components.
  • Contribute to the design, development, testing and maintenance of integrated systems that combine mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Operational Technology Strategy for the Group as it relates to Digital Transformation.
  • Contribute to the wider adoption of Industry 4.0 in particular areas such as

Essential Experience and Skills
  • Experienced in PLC programming and control systems for industrial automation.
  • Robot Programming and installation.
  • Scada / HMI networking and programming.
  • Electrical design, panel build and integration of electrical control components.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, industrial networks, robotics, and automation.
  • Familiarity with electrical components, including sensors, actuators, PLCs, drive systems, microcontrollers, and embedded systems.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and their application in automation and robotics.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and computer programming.
  • Ability to analyse system performance and troubleshoot complex engineering problems.

  • Efficient teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and work independently when required.

Beneficial Skills
  • Knowledge of the Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as applied to mechatronic systems.
  • Siemens S7 programming (TIA Portal or S7 Simatic Manager).
  • Epson RC+ programming experience.
  • Working knowledge of electrical design software such as EPAN, SEE Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Python for controlling embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of implementing communications security in OT Environments.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA) for designing mechatronic systems.
  • Keyence Vision Systems knowledge.
  • Experience configuring industrial networks and communicating with industrial communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with CE marking, safety standards and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Ignition software experience.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • HNC/D or greater in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a mechatronics engineer or a similar role, preferably in automation, robotics, or manufacturing.
Hours of Work

Hours of work: Monday – Thursday 0800 hrs – 1700 hrs; Friday 0800 hrs – 1330 hrs
