Mechanical R&D Engineer

Location: Wantage, Oxfordshire

A leading global innovator in sustainable, mechanical solutions is seeking a Mechanical R&D Engineer to join its technical team. Our client designs and manufactures cutting‑edge products for some of the world’s most respected brands.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of new and improved products and processes, offering technical support to manufacturing operations across the globe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design metal components, tools, and machine parts using CAD (SolidWorks).
  • Create detailed technical drawings with a focus on Design for Manufacture (DFM).
  • Organise and conduct product and process development work, setting up equipment and manufacturing samples for testing and trials.
  • Evaluate and validate new product specifications.
  • Transfer new technologies into manufacturing plants, preparing documentation and providing commissioning support.
  • Support global plants by providing technical expertise to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Analyse data, interpret results, and compile technical reports.
About You

The ideal candidate will likely hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) or have developed strong technical skills through a formal apprenticeship. Experience in manufacturing engineering, mechanical design, and project work is essential.
