About the Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Quality Inspector/Engineer to join a respected organisation operating within a regulated sector. This role offers the chance to work on a major long-term project, supporting critical mechanical inspection and quality assurance activities across a high-profile regulated framework.

The position is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical inspection background who values precision, thrives in a structured environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work within a regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the delivery of mechanical quality assurance and inspection requirements to ensure full compliance with project standards, specifications, and nuclear governance. Typical duties will include:

  • Conducting mechanical inspections across systems, components, and installations.
  • Reviewing and verifying documentation including ITPs, LTRs, quality plans, and inspection records.
  • Coordinating mechanical work packs and ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Recording inspection findings, producing detailed reports, and communicating outcomes to engineering and quality teams.
  • Supporting the management of non-conformances, corrective actions, and surveillance activities.
  • Ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, Quality, and site regulations and procedures.
  • Liaising with contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to maintain clear quality expectations.
  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of quality documentation for lifetime records compliance.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Experience in mechanical inspection or mechanical QA/QC within a regulated or high-integrity environment.
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC preferred) or relevant equivalent background.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, installations, and inspection techniques.
  • Experience working with ITPs, LTRs, quality plans, NCRs, and associated QA documentation.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification (advantageous).
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
  • Knowledge of industry quality standards is desirable.
