Mechanical Project Manager / Contracts Manager – Live Environment Projects – London & South East. Salary: GBP70,000 – GBP85,000 + package.

We are recruiting on behalf of a respected and established M&E contractor with a reputation for delivering technically complex mechanical projects across the commercial, healthcare, and education sectors. They are looking to appoint a Mechanical Project Manager / Contracts Manager to lead multiple live environment projects, with experience operating in occupied spaces and a focus on building strong client relationships while delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical works across multiple live environment projects from pre-construction through to handover
  • Manage day-to-day site activities, subcontractors, and in-house teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Oversee health & safety, compliance, procurement, and commercial performance
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Work within active environments such as schools, hospitals, or office buildings with minimal disruption
  • Support in forecasting, resource planning, and contract administration
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
What You’ll Need
  • Previous experience managing mechanical packages in live environments
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Background working with an M&E or mechanical contractor
  • Sound understanding of HVAC, public health systems, and building services
  • SMSTS / SSSTS and valid CSCS card preferred
