Job description

True are partnering with a West Midlands-based mechanical and electrical contractor delivering high-quality building services across education, commercial, industrial, and healthcare sectors. With a strong reputation for snag‑free handovers and a loyal base of regional clients, they're growing their project management team across the West Midlands where all the work will be based.

As a Small Works Mechanical Project Manager, you'll take full responsibility for multiple projects typically valued between £500K-£1M, managing the mechanical delivery from pre‑construction handover through to commissioning. You'll be client‑facing, oversee subcontractors, drive procurement, and ensure H&S compliance, supported by an in‑house estimating and pre‑construction team. Projects are predominantly based in Birmingham, Dudley, and Tamworth, with occasional work further afield.

You'll be running 3-5 jobs at any one time, depending on size and complexity, with scopes spanning pipework, ventilation, and air conditioning. This is a great opportunity for an intermediate‑level Project Manager with around 5 years' experience in mechanical delivery, looking for autonomy, progression, and long‑term opportunity within a well‑established regional business.

Small Works Mechanical Project Manager Package:
  • £50,000 - £55,000 basic salary
  • £5,000 car allowance
  • Projects across the Midlands - minimal travel
  • Support from in‑house estimating & pre‑construction teams
  • Delivery‑focused role with full ownership from handover to commissioning
  • Clear development and progression pathway within the business
