Salary: £75,000 – £80,000 per annum

Role Overview

The Mechanical Project Manager will be site-based in Slough / London, delivering mechanical engineering and construction works across complex projects within live and critical environments. The role requires strong commercial awareness, effective site leadership, and tight control of project documentation and subcontractor coordination.

Previous data centre experience is advantageous but not essential. Candidates from other critical or live environments with transferable experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical project delivery on live construction sites.
  • Manage mechanical infrastructure packages in line with programme, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, trades, and the supply chain.
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to client and company standards.
  • Implement and maintain QA systems and site records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, CDM regulations, environmental legislation, and HSQE standards.
  • Prepare and manage programmes, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Produce weekly progress, safety, and site condition reports.
  • Chair and minute subcontractor and project meetings.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project risks, variations, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Monitor costs and support delivery within agreed budgets.
  • Carry out site surveys, testing documentation, and ensure workforce competency compliance.
Qualifications
  • Experience at Mechanical Project Engineer or Mechanical Project Manager level.
  • Proven background delivering mechanical packages in live or critical environments.
  • Relevant mechanical qualifications.
  • SMSTS and CSCS Managers Card.
  • Strong commercial awareness and project documentation skills.
  • Experience working for customer-facing contractors.
  • Working knowledge of planning software, SharePoint, and MS Office.
  • Solid understanding of health & safety, CDM, and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
