Job description

Morson is looking for Mechanical Process Technicians to support mechanical production activities across a diverse range of platforms, including surface ships, submarines, and factory-based operations on site at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background and a passion for engineering.

Key responsibilities
  • Assist in the mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair of components and systems on naval vessels and within factory settings.
  • Carry out inspections, fault diagnosis, and basic testing of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance or production support.
  • Familiarity with working on marine platforms (surface ships or submarines) or in industrial, manufacturing or maintenance environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety practices in high-risk environments.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a mechanical or related discipline.

6 months contract initially. Inside IR35. The role requires candidates to obtain and maintain SC Security clearance.
