Overview

📍 Location: West Yorkshire • Working Hours: 39 hours/week, 3 × 12-hour night shifts plus 1 out of 4 Sundays (6:00-18:00)

Are you a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced production environment? Do you enjoy fault-finding, improving machinery performance, and keeping production running at peak efficiency? If so, this could be the role for you.

The Role

You'll play a key role in ensuring production machinery is maintained, repaired, and improved to the highest standard — minimising downtime and maximising output. Working closely with engineering, production, suppliers, and contractors, you\'ll be a trusted problem-solver on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plant and production equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults
  • Install, relocate, and improve production machinery
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Specify, order, and book in spare parts
  • Complete maintenance records, timesheets, and associated paperwork
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, engineers, and internal departments
  • Support stock takes and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain the highest standards of health & safety at all times

What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
  • Recognised Mechanical qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds / BTEC / HNC or similar)
  • Experience in a high-speed, high-pressure production environment
  • Background in printing or carton manufacturing desirable
  • Experience with production machinery
  • PC literate with basic Excel and Word skills
