  • Assemble components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Build small sub‑assemblies through to full mechanical sections.
  • Install pneumatic and hydraulic pipework.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure all work meets required standards.

Overview

Our client, a well‑established engineering and manufacturing company supplying specialised equipment to global industrial markets, is looking for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their busy team. You will be responsible for building and assembling a wide range of special‑purpose machinery to high engineering standards. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and a practical mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Build small sub‑assemblies through to full mechanical sections.
  • Fit bearings, taper‑lock pulleys, gears and related components.
  • Install pneumatic and hydraulic pipework.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure all work meets required standards and maintain a safe, clean work area.
Skills & Experience
  • Fully time‑served mechanical fitter with a recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.
  • Confident with hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • A team player with clear communication skills and a positive, professional approach.

Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 1:30pm Friday
