Job summary

This role involves travel across multiple sites in Peterborough, Lincoln, and Essex, offering a competitive daily rate.

Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Mechanical Fitter to support ongoing projects within the water and wastewater industry. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-focused, and capable of delivering high-quality mechanical work across a range of treatment and pumping facilities.

There are multiple sites across Peterborough / Lincoln / Essex.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair pumps, valves, pipework, and associated mechanical equipment
• Support clean water and wastewater treatment sites, pumping stations, and chemical dosing systems
• Carry out mechanical commissioning, site modifications, and routine maintenance
• Conduct mechanical fault‑finding and respond to breakdowns
• Work from technical drawings and ensure all tasks meet safety and compliance standards

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within the water sector
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater processes
• CSCS Card
• Anglian Water Safety Passport
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to different sites
