Cory Group is recruiting for the position of Mechanical Engineer at their Energy from Waste (EfW) Facility in Belvedere, Kent.
We operate one of the largest energy from waste facilities in the country, located on the banks of the River Thames in London. With a second EfW under construction and expansions in our waste transfer business, you will play a pivotal role in our future success.
The Mechanical Engineer will be primarily responsible for supporting the development of the strategic elements and resilience of the Cory Group as a business to be best in class. They will plan and develop major outage projects as well as provide technical support to the Maintenance Team when required to help maintain high plant availability.
The Mechanical Engineer is expected to form a professional relationship and work closely with the Operations, Maintenance, Assurance and Logistics teams to : maximise the operational efficiency of the EfW Facility at Belvedere; develop Best Practices for resilience of the Assets; and consolidate contracts for continual improvement with cost efficiencies.
The Mechanical Engineers works as part of the Engineering team who are responsible for the medium to long term asset care and replacement strategy. This includes responsibilities in the following areas :

The successful candidate is likely to be making strong progress towards Chartered status and support in achieving this will be provided. This would normally be accompanied by further salary progression.
They will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience :
A proven track record working as a Mechanical Technician or higher in an EfW or similar setting, e.g. heavy industry or manufacturing.
