Qualifications

Job description

We are looking to add a mechanical engineer to join our engineering team at our manufacturing site in South Wales. As a mechanical engineer, you will play a key role in supporting production, maximising machine uptime, and ensuring our fast-paced manufacturing environment runs smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for a mechanical engineer who enjoys varied work, problem-solving, and being part of a proactive engineering department. You'll work across a wide range of machinery, engineering projects, and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities & Requirements as a mechanical engineer
Key Responsibilities
  • Maximise machine output in a fast-paced production environment
  • Provide engineering support across all manufacturing processes
  • Fault-find/micro fault and carry out corrective actions on production equipment
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, full strip-downs, and rebuilds
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Support TPM activities and engineering improvement projects
  • Machine setting using precision tools to maintain product specification
  • Complete sub-assembly preparation and tooling changes
  • Carry out additional tasks as required by the Engineering Leadership Team
Requirements
  • ONC/HNC, BTEC Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
  • Self-driven, proactive, with a can-do attitude
  • Able to work on a 3 shift pattern (Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts)
  • Flexible approach to supporting the engineering team
