The Role

The Mechanical Engineer supports the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of an energy centre in East London. The role is responsible for ensuring optimal performance of mechanical plant systems including boilers, CHP, and chillers. The engineer will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, ensure system reliability, and support continuous operational improvements in line with company standards and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute defined planned preventive maintenance (PPM) across all mechanical assets.
• Conduct repairs, minor installations, and proactive monitoring activities.
• Diagnose and repair plant faults with a strong focus on customer care and system uptime.
• Ensure full and accurate completion of job reports and maintenance documentation.
• Interrogate operational monitoring systems to support fault diagnostics and system optimisation.
• Maintain performance of district heating and cooling assets through routine inspections and fault finding.
• Contribute to operational availability by minimising unplanned outages.
• Support the implementation of condition-based and predictive maintenance where applicable.
• Ensure rapid resolution and close-out of maintenance tickets.

We are currently looking for an Mechanical Engineer to join the team on our site based in East London.

This is a day's role of 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

Qualifications & Experience

Our ideal candidate will have Plumbing or Mechanical qualifications, a strong Mechanical knowledge of both commercial install and maintenance, be familiar with working in a building maintenance capacity and have site experience with the following:

• Scheduled and reactive site PPM'S
• Fault finding
• Chillers
• Cooling towers
• L8
• BMS systems
• CHPs
• Boilers
• Heat transfer
• Plate heat exchangers
• Change pump seals and bearings
• Pressurization units
